Abu Dhabi Telemedicine Centre Earns its Highest - Ever Grade in DAT A - Quality Index Amid Surge in Demand

Abu Dhabi Telemedicine Centre (ADTC) successfully renewed its data certification for 2020 with its highest-ever score of 98.7% after a virtual audit by JAWDA; the healthcare quality index developed by the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH).

The Mubadala Healthcare provider achieved the near-perfect score on the audit – which assesses the quality of coding, collection and submission of clinical data – while also assuming a key role in Mubadala Healthcare’s initiatives to help contain COVID-19, and managing unprecedented demand.

It is worth noting that ADTC witnessed a huge spur in number of calls, which spiked to a 2,000 per cent increase during the start of the pandemic, compared to the period before it, and registering 68,524 calls between the months of March and July, including 22,311 completed teleconsultations and 15,289 medical cases.

Fikree adds that since the launch of the Remote Care initiative overseen by the DoH, ADTC has completed more than 10,940 patient consultations, in addition to around 2,000 assessment calls. The program was developed as a collaborative solution between Mubadala Healthcare and DoH to support freeing up hospitals in Abu Dhabi from COVID-19 by monitoring or treating at home patients who are asymptomatic or have only mild symptoms.
